HD Alarm Valves act as check valves by trapping pressurized water above the clapper and preventing reverse flow from the sprinkler system’s piping products consisting of OS&Y gate valves, butterfly valves, swing check valves, Y-type strainers, and pressure gauges.

Alarm Valves are designed to initiate an alarm through a water motor gong bell and/or pressure switch during a sustained flow of water via a wet pipe (such as the flow required by an open fire sprinkler).
